WELCOME TO EARTHDANCE SAN DIEGO 2011!
|
Earthdance San Diego began with the vision to create a festival within our city that bridged peoples, music, and culture together in the name of peace. This marks the 4th year of Earthdance San Diego's downtown location and 15th year of Earthdance International events held globally. In 2010, our event was held in unity with 64 countries and 350+ locations worldwide and we feel honored to continue to be part of this movement.
Earthdance San Diego first began in 2001 at Holiday Park in Carlsbad. After being held in many other small neighborhood parks around San Diego County, we secured the President's Way Lawn in Balboa Park in 2006 to produce an event with one 10x10 tent and just a few DJ’s and non-profit organizations participating to an event that was attended by well over 2000 people in 2007. 2008's attendance attracted 2500 participants, vendors, volunteers and other community oriented individuals.
Many wonderful opportunities await you in 2011 including dance music, rock, pop, and existential, a children’s area, VIP reception area to meet artists and guest speakers, spoken word, live painting, live drums, performance artists and entertainers, and a media lounge with a computer station to calculate your carbon footprint.
We invite you to be part of the movement and help elevate San Diego to be looked upon as a leader in environmental sustainability, forward thinking and concern for our local, national, and global community.
Please feel free to contact one of our organizers at any time if you have questions about the event. |
Aside from being one of the only free daytime dance festivals in San Diego held for charity, the highlight of the event is the Global LinkUp, in which every event around the world plays the same track, the "Prayer for Peace" in their respective language. For the San Diego Earthdance event, our prayer occurs at 4pm, and will be connected with nearly a million conscious people around the world. |
